Baku: Well-coordinated transport corridors are of great importance for ensuring global food security, said Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov during a panel discussion at the conference titled ‘Modern Agricultural Cooperation as the Basis of Sustainable Development and the Guarantee of Food Security’ held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadov emphasized the critical role of strengthening connectivity and ensuring the uninterrupted movement of cargo. He noted that Azerbaijan, strategically positioned at the intersection of the main East-West and North-South trade routes, acts as a natural bridge between Europe and Asia. Leveraging this geographical advantage, Azerbaijan places special emphasis on the development of the Middle Corridor, which is central to its national strategy.
To translate this strategic vision into actionable steps, Azerbaijan has introduced the National Transit Action Plan for 2024-2026. This comprehensive document outlines a roadmap aimed at bolstering the nation’s transit potential, further solidifying Azerbaijan’s role as a key player in international trade and logistics.
