A meeting was held between the leaders of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan and Isfara region of Tajikistan in Kak-Sai area of Kara-Bak rural municipality on March 10.

Head of region Uchkunbek Jorobaev discussed with his colleague Bahovadin Bahodurzoda the issues of ensuring a stable situation in the border areas.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies and local authorities took part in the meeting.

The parties discussed issues of ensuring public safety, irrigation, agreed on the work to clean irrigation systems, the inadmissibility of building facilities on undescribed sections of the border, and the prevention of provocations.

The parties agreed to carry out explanatory work among the population to prevent conflicts and ensure stability.

The meeting lasted about 2 hours. The socio-political situation in the border areas of Batken region is assessed as calm.
