Baku: The number of those providing grants to anti-Azerbaijan groups has decreased, according to Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration. This announcement was made during a conversation with journalists, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hajiyev highlighted that recent campaigns against Azerbaijan have diminished in scale. He pointed out that Azerbaijan continues to face pressure and smear campaigns, similar to those experienced during COP29. These efforts, aimed at spreading manipulative information, have been observed during significant international events hosted by Azerbaijan. Nonetheless, the financial resources of these groups, operating both domestically and internationally, have decreased, along with the number of entities providing grants.
Hajiyev specifically mentioned the involvement of the US organization USAID and the European Parliament, noting their roles in the context of these campaigns. He expressed skepticism about the understanding of those adopting resolutions concerning Azerbaijan in the European Parliament, which have exceeded ten in the past five years. Despite these resolutions, Hajiyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s independent policy, international reputation, and respect within the global community. Baku’s role as a pivotal diplomatic center, where significant global issues are discussed, was also underscored as evidence of Azerbaijan’s standing.
