Accra:Large-scale cyberattacks have targeted the information systems and resources of Azerbaijan’s government agencies over the past week, as reported by Nadir Novruzov, the Head of Department at the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, these cyberattacks, although a regular occurrence, have significantly increased in scale recently. The attacks are primarily in the form of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks aimed at disrupting the operation of government information systems. Additionally, there have been attempts to gain unauthorized access to government information systems and the email accounts of government employees.
Nadir Novruzov explained that the main objective of these cyberattacks is to hinder the operation of government information systems and impede the provision of electronic services to citizens. To combat this, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security continuously monitors such activities and implements necessary measures to prevent them.
