Council of Europe Emphasizes Need for Peace in South Caucasus


Copenhagen: Bringing peace to the South Caucasus is a crucial element, said Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, in his remarks to journalists on the sidelines of the 7th European Political Community (EPC) Summit.



According to Trend News Agency, Berset highlighted the importance of the peace process in ensuring regional stability and the well-being of local populations. He emphasized that achieving peace would establish stability in the South Caucasus and enable the development of positive prospects for the people and the region as a whole.



Berset also expressed his personal commitment to the South Caucasus, noting his presence in all three countries of the region during his mandate. He mentioned maintaining regular contacts with various actors in the South Caucasus, underscoring the region’s significance to the Council of Europe and the European continent.
