‘Our mission observed the election process in 16 districts of Azerbaijan, including Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Shusha, and Khankendi. We monitored the process at several polling stations. The polling stations opened on time, and the election process was conducted transparently and in a well-organized manner,’ stated Leonid Anfimov, head of the CIS PA observation mission and First Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), at a press conference on the outcomes of the snap parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
Anfimov also noted that while some independent international observers reported law violations at certain polling stations, these incidents were minimal. Such cases were promptly addressed, and the perpetrators were penalized.
He further highlighted that ramps were installed at 2,471 stations for disabled voters, and ballot paper templates were prepared for visually impaired persons. Conditions were also established to facilitate participation in the vote preparation and pr
otocol counting processes. Anfimov concluded that the mission observed the election process was conducted smoothly, with no legal violations detected.
