China’s initial freight trucks sent via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (Middle Corridor) have been delivered to Azerbaijan by a ship of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO), ASCO told APA-Economics.
The first convoy containing 26 freight trucks was loaded onto “Merkuri-1” ferry-boat belonging to ASCO’s Marine Transport Fleet at Kazakhstan’s Port Kuryk on July 3 and dispatched to Azerbaijan. The trucks that have now arrived in Azerbaijan will be sent to European countries via Georgia and Trkiye.
Note that earlier in May of this year, China had sent three trial freight trucks weighing 80 tons to Europe via the Middle Corridor from Kuryk.
