Chief of General Staff of Azerbaijan Visits Pakistan for Strengthening Defense Ties


Islamabad: A delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, has arrived in Islamabad at the invitation of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, as confirmed by MoD to APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the official welcoming ceremony, Colonel General Karim Valiyev and Field Marshal Asim Munir inspected the Guard of Honor in accordance with protocol. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Pakistan were performed, and a wreath was laid at the Martyrs’ Monument to honor the fallen.



Throughout the visit, both parties engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the defense ministries of Azerbaijan and Pakistan. They also addressed other issues of mutual interest, aiming to fortify their bilateral relations.



At the end of the meeting, Colonel General Valiyev extended congratulations to Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistan Army on the occasion of ‘Independence Day’ and their achievements in the ‘Victory of Truth’ operation on behalf of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense leadership.



Field Marshal Asim Munir was also honored with the ‘For Services in the Field of Military Cooperation’ medal, awarded by the order of the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan. The visit will further include the participation of the Azerbaijani Chief of General Staff in the military parade dedicated to ‘Independence Day’ and the ‘Victory of Truth,’ marking a significant event in Islamabad.
