Challenges in Cybersecurity Intensify with Advancements in Artificial Intelligence

Baku:The emergence of artificial intelligence technologies is presenting new challenges in the realm of information security, as highlighted by Allahveran Ismayilov, Deputy Chief of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security. He addressed these concerns during the opening ceremony of the 8th Summit of Information Security Leaders in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Ismayilov pointed out that the primary challenges involve the creation of more convincing phishing attacks through artificial intelligence, enhanced social engineering techniques, falsification of audio and video content, dissemination of disinformation, and the amplification of existing cyber threats.

Ismayilov emphasized that while artificial intelligence introduces new opportunities, it also necessitates a reevaluation of conventional security strategies. He remarked that artificial intelligence has transitioned from being a futuristic concept to a present-day reality, aiding in faster decision-making, facilitating the analysis of large datasets, and reinforcing cyber defense mechanisms.
