Baku: BP has conducted import operations worth $170 million in Azerbaijan over the first nine months of this year, according to Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, BP’s Vice President for Communications and External Relations in the Caspian region. This announcement was made at the ‘Customs Business Forum 2025,’ as reported by APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aslanbayli highlighted that this amount is $130 million higher compared to the same period last year. He attributed part of this increase to BP’s new projects, notably the Shafaq project in the Jabrayil district, an area recently liberated from occupation. BP had no previous operations in this district, which necessitated close cooperation with customs authorities for import-export activities. As a result of these operations, approximately 20% of the panels for the project are now located within the Jabrayil district.
