Barcelona: Barcelona have been crowned back-to-back Spanish champions under Hansi Flick after defeating Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico, securing a 14-point lead at the top with just three games remaining, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, two early goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres were sufficient for Barcelona on a day when Flick was on the sidelines despite the announcement of his father’s death shortly before kickoff.
The victory marked only the second instance in LaLiga history where the outcome of El Clásico directly resulted in one of the teams winning the league title. The previous occasion was in 1932 when a 2-2 draw between the teams allowed Madrid to clinch the title.
