Baku’s Inflation Rate Approaches 7% Amid Consumer Price Hike


Baku: Average annual inflation in Baku was reported to be close to 7% as consumer prices saw a significant rise.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in the period from January to July 2025, the consumer price index in Baku reached 106.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This includes a 106 percent increase for food, beverages, and tobacco products and a 105.3 percent increase for non-food products, as reported by the State Statistical Department to APA-Economics.



During the same period, the cost of paid services provided to the population saw a 9.5% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Additionally, it was noted that the average annual inflation for the first half of the current year in Baku stood at 7%.



In a broader context, the consumer price index for Azerbaijan as a whole in the period from January to July this year was 105.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
