Baku: The administrative session of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) was held today in Baku, APA-Economics reports. The session primarily addressed IOTA’s activities planned for the 2024-2025 period, decisions made by the Executive Council, strategic development measures, and suggestions and proposals from member administrations. Additionally, the IOTA Secretariat presented its annual activity report, and organizational and budgetary issues for the upcoming term were discussed.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, IOTA President Orkhan Nazarli delivered a speech during the event. He highlighted that under Azerbaijan’s presidency, the focus was on institutional development, improving regional cooperation, and expanding knowledge exchange in innovative tax administration. Nazarli stressed the importance of achieving the objectives outlined in IOTA’s 2023-2027 strategy. He mentioned that the results of this term represent not just the end of a cycle but also a contribution to IOTA’s sustainable institutional and financial future. Nazarli expressed confidence that the Assembly in Baku will create new opportunities and enhance cooperation among member states.
At the closing of the session, the symbolic IOTA flag was passed from Orkhan Nazarli to Ferenc V¡gujhelyi, Head of Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Administration.
