Baku: The volume of natural gas supplied from Azerbaijan to Europe has reached 50 billion cubic meters, the Ministry of Energy told APA. Since the launch of gas exports to Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), Azerbaijan has significantly expanded both the export volume and the geography of its gas supplies.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, in addition to supplying gas to Georgia and Trkiye, Azerbaijan now exports gas to 10 European countries. The gas deliveries to Europe via TAP began on December 31, 2020, and have marked a crucial development in the region’s energy landscape.
The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline is the final segment of the Southern Gas Corridor, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing energy security and diversifying gas supplies to Europe. This milestone underscores Azerbaijan’s growing role as a key energy supplier to the European market.
