Baku: Anar Karimov, Azerbaijan’s First Deputy Minister of Finance, met with a delegation led by Professor Ricardo Hausmann, Director of Harvard’s Growth Lab. The meeting focused on exploring existing cooperation within a research and education-training project implemented jointly with Harvard University, along with joint analytical activities on macroeconomic policy, fiscal framework, and economic development.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Anar Karimov provided insights into the macroeconomic situation and forecasts for 2025-2026 in Azerbaijan. He highlighted that economic growth in the country is primarily driven by the non-oil sector, while inflation maintains relatively stable dynamics. Karimov stressed the significance of ongoing fiscal reforms to enhance the sustainability of public finances and ensure medium-term macroeconomic stability.
Ricardo Hausmann emphasized the importance of continuous cooperation with Azerbaijan, noting that the joint analytical activities contribute to a deeper analysis of the country’s economic development areas and facilitate the effective formation of economic decisions.
