Azerbaijan’s Economic Growth and Military Reforms Key to Victory in 44-Day War, Says Expert

Baku:Azerbaijan’s strategic focus on economic development and military reform has been highlighted as crucial factors in its victory during the 44-day Patriotic War. American author and expert Liam Collins emphasized these points during the presentation of the book “The War for Karabakh Strategy, Technology, and Victory,” an event co-organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations and Multiculturalism and the Baku Book Center.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Collins noted the significant role of Azerbaijan’s economic potential in strengthening its defense capabilities. The modernization of the army and development of modern military capabilities were direct results of the country’s long-term economic development strategy.

Collins recalled Azerbaijan’s challenging economic conditions in 1994, but highlighted how the nation later utilized revenues from its energy resources to bolster economic growth and military strength. This strategic approach enabled Azerbaijan to expand its economic capacities and upgrade its military, significantly influencing the outcome of the 44-day conflict.
