Azerbaijan’s Digital Minister Engages with ITU Head on Upcoming Conference in Geneva


Geneva: A meeting took place between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, and the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Doreen Bogdan-Martin. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport shared this information with APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, discussions during the meeting centered on the preparations for the upcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference, which is set to occur in Baku from November 18-27. The conversation also touched on ongoing cooperative efforts in the telecommunications sector.



The parties further explored the possibility of establishing an ITU Acceleration Center in Azerbaijan. This initiative aims to foster innovation and cultivate a dynamic digital ecosystem. Additionally, they discussed ITU-led training programs and the sharing of experiences in the realm of cybersecurity.
