Azerbaijan’s Baku State University Partners with OIC Labour Center for Workforce Development


Baku: A memorandum of understanding on cooperation has been signed between Baku State University (BSU) and the Labour Center of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, speaking at the ceremony, Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that in recent years BSU has focused on training qualified specialists in line with labor market needs, advancing students’ practical skills, and expanding international cooperation through various programs and projects. He also expressed confidence that the memorandum will strengthen cooperation between the parties, especially in workforce training and joint activities in research, education, and key fields such as civil law, labor law, and social work.



In his remarks, Azar Bayramov, Director General of the OIC Labour Centre, said that the Center works to improve employment policies, develop sustainable labor markets, and support human capital in member states. It implements projects in labor market analysis, vocational training, youth employment, and innovative job solutions through close cooperation with partner countries.



Azar Bayramov also emphasized that the Center attaches special importance to the exchange of knowledge and experience through joint initiatives with regional and international partners. He noted that cooperation with BSU would further strengthen the link between education and the labor market, creating broad opportunities for joint research, training, and development programs.
