Azerbaijan’s ANAMA Uncovers Extensive Mine Presence in Liberated Regions


Baku: Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has announced its latest weekly findings regarding mine clearance operations in the liberated regions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, ANAMA reported the discovery of 59 more landmines, which include 43 anti-personnel mines and 16 anti-tank mines, along with 382 unexploded ordnance (UXOs). These hazardous items were located in various areas such as Tartar, Aghdam, Aghdara, Lachin, Fuzuli, Shusha, Khojaly, Khankandi, Kalbajar, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan.

The agency also disclosed that a total of 2,331.8 hectares of land has been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance. This significant demining effort aims to ensure safety and facilitate the rehabilitation of these territories.
