Azerbaijani Veteran Journalists Visit Turkish Veterans Foundation


Istanbul: A group of Azerbaijani journalists, who participated in the Patriotic War, visited the Istanbul branch of the Turkish Veterans and Martyrs’ Families Foundation, APA reports. Bahruz Mammadzadeh, a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Press Council and Chairman of the Public Union of Veterans of Special Forces, Martyrs’ Families and Veterans, provided insights into the role Azerbaijani journalists played during the Patriotic War.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bahruz Mammadzadeh highlighted that alongside their professional duties, Azerbaijani journalists took on the role of serving the homeland, akin to soldiers in the field. He underscored the enduring ties between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, noting the significant moral impact of such interactions.



Ferhat Ko§ak, a veteran and member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Veterans and Martyrs’ Families Foundation, expressed appreciation for the strong relations between the two nations. He conveyed his satisfaction in meeting the veteran journalists and reiterated Turkiye’s solidarity with Azerbaijan, considering it a second homeland.



The visit was organized on the initiative of MediaTrk TV, coordinated by “TIKA Azerbaijan”, and facilitated by the Turkish Media Business Union and the Public Union of Veterans of Special Forces, Martyrs’ Families and Veterans. This event marked the 150th anniversary of the Azerbaijani National Press, fostering further exchanges between the two countries.
