London: Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for special assignments Elchin Amirbayov paid a working visit to the United Kingdom, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Amirbayov held discussions with key UK officials, including Deputy National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister Barbara Woodward, Director General Political at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Edward Llewellyn, Director General for Defence and Security Jonathan Allen, Director of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department Chris Allan, Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons Nusrat Ghani, Chair of the Azerbaijan Friendship Group in Parliament Bob Blackman, along with several other members of parliament.
Elchin Amirbayov briefed his British counterparts on the current state and prospects of the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized the significance of the historic agreements reached in Washington in August of the previous year and outlined the specific steps undertaken in various fields to foster mutual trust and expand the peace agenda. Amirbayov affirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to establishing a long-term and irreversible peace with Armenia.
