Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended his condolences to the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, following a tragic fire at a shopping center in the city of al-Kut.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev expressed his sorrow over the incident, which resulted in numerous casualties. In his message, President Aliyev conveyed his deepest sympathies to President Rashid, the bereaved families, and the people of Iraq. He also wished a swift recovery for those injured in the tragedy.
The President’s letter emphasized the shared grief between Azerbaijan and Iraq, highlighting his personal condolences as well as those of the Azerbaijani people. The letter concluded with a prayer for the deceased, wishing them eternal peace.
