Skopje: Azerbaijani judokas have started strong at the Junior European Cup in Skopje, North Macedonia, securing four medals on the opening day.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nihad Mamishov and Abil Yusubov led the way with gold medal victories in their respective weight categories of 60kg and 73kg. Additionally, Farid Garayev added a silver medal in the 60kg category, while Mahammad Musayev contributed to the medal tally with a bronze in the 66kg division.
The team’s impressive performance on the first day has positioned Azerbaijan second in the overall standings, demonstrating their strength and competitiveness in the tournament.
