Azerbaijani Gas Enhances Energy Security for Eight EU Member States

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the significant role of Azerbaijani gas in supporting the energy security of eight European Union member states during a recent event. The statement was made at the inauguration of the first campus of the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku, marking an important milestone in Azerbaijani-Italian cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the impact of the TAP project, part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which was greatly facilitated by the involvement and support of President Mattarella of Italy. Aliyev noted that without the resolution of issues surrounding this project, the export of Azerbaijani natural resources to Europe would have been significantly hindered. The project has now become a cornerstone of energy security for several EU nations, with its reach continuing to expand. Azerbaijani-Italian collaboration has been instrumental in achieving these developments, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in energy projects.
