Azerbaijani Citizens Evading Declarations on Imported Goods

Baku: Sometimes products imported from abroad are not declared, Shahin Baghirov, chairman of the State Customs Committee, told journalists. Some Azerbaijani citizens are ready to spend their money abroad, but they try to evade declaring their products, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Baghirov emphasized the necessity for citizens to import and declare products in accordance with the law. He stated, “If the products are declared, there will be no problems. There are no restrictions on importing any items, clothes, phones, mobile devices or other items (except for items prohibited by law) into Azerbaijan. There are just procedural rules for this. They need to be declared and customs payments paid.”

The statement highlights the importance of compliance with import regulations to avoid issues at customs. The process of declaring goods aims to ensure transparency and adherence to legal requirements, which includes the payment of necessary customs duties.
