Abu Dhabi: Azerbaijani businessman Tahir Gozel recently held significant meetings with Wamkele Mene, the Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), on April 7 and 9. Gozel’s visit to Abu Dhabi was at Mene’s invitation to speak at the AIM Congress, where he participated in a panel discussion on “Strategic Investments in Digital Public Infrastructure- Advancing Regional Economic Integration and Cross-Border FDI in Africa.”
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the panel, Gozel highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in realizing the potential of digital public infrastructure. He shared insights into Azerbaijan’s initiatives focused on fostering inclusive development through technology-based solutions. Gozel proposed introducing new services from ASAN Service, Azercosmos, and Proxima Tech Solutions, a company he founded, to African nations, with the goal of expanding partnerships in the region.
Mene expressed satisfaction with the discussions, particularly the projects by ASAN Service and Azercosmos in Africa, and conveyed his respect for Azerbaijan. He demonstrated openness to exploring new partnerships, reflecting the mutual interest in strengthening collaboration between Azerbaijan and African countries.
