Azerbaijani and Georgian Military Experts Convene for Cybersecurity Discussions in Tbilisi

Tbilisi: A working meeting of military specialists in cybersecurity from Azerbaijan and Georgia was recently held in Tbilisi. This meeting was part of the bilateral military cooperation plan for 2025 between the Ministries of Defense of both countries.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Azerbaijani delegation, during its visit, paid homage to the National Leader by laying flowers at the monument in Heydar Aliyev Park. They also visited the Shindisi Memorial to honor Georgia’s heroic soldiers. The meeting saw Colonel Lieutenant Elshan Hasanov, Head of the Cybersecurity Service of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, engage in discussions with Luka Mgeladze, Head of the Cybersecurity Bureau of Georgia’s Ministry of Defense.

Extensive discussions were held regarding further development of cybersecurity cooperation, exploring new prospects, and implementing joint projects. The importance of such exchanges for mutual experience sharing was particularly emphasized.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the David Agmashenebeli National Defense Academy to observe cadet training in informatics. A meeting was organized between representatives of Georgia’s Cyber Security Bureau and Azerbaijan’s Cybersecurity Service, where Luka Mgeladze introduced the Azerbaijani delegation to the structure and objectives of the Georgian organization.

Lieutenant Colonel Hasanov shared insights into the Azerbaijani cybersecurity activities. Both parties agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in cybersecurity. This meeting marked the third such engagement under the bilateral cooperation plan, highlighting the ongoing commitment to collaborative efforts in cybersecurity.
