Azerbaijani and Cypriot Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Concerns

Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov engaged in a telephone conversation with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on August 20. Minister Kombos extended congratulations to Azerbaijan for the progress made in the normalization process with Armenia, especially in light of the recent U.S. summit that included President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ministers also deliberated on preparations for Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026. Kombos highlighted Cyprus’ readiness to contribute to the regional peace process during its EU presidency.

The conversation further covered other matters of mutual concern between the two nations.
