Baku: The Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction recently hosted a meeting aimed at fostering academic cooperation in the context of the World Urban Forum (WUF13). Representatives from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company were present.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting included key figures such as Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of the University; Anna Soave, head of UN-Habitat’s Country Office in Azerbaijan; Rapha«lle Vignol, WUF13 Academic Cooperation Officer and Acting Head of the Capacity Building and Training Unit of UN-Habitat; and Jamila Ismayilzadeh, Content Manager of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company.
Discussions centered around potential academic cooperation within WUF13, university participation in the forum, and how scientific research and educational institutions could contribute to the global urban planning agenda. The university’s capabilities in urban planning, architecture, and sustainable development were highlighted as potential assets to the WUF13 platform.
Both parties expressed optimism about organizing joint events, academic sessions, and scientific discussions. There was a mutual interest in enhancing cooperation through the exchange of experience within the framework of WUF13.
