Shusha: Demining activities in the territory of Shusha city will be regulated by new rules, APA reports. This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the law “On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha city”, approved by the President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft stipulates that demining activities in areas of historical and archaeological importance will be conducted with the involvement of a representative from an organization designated by the relevant executive authority. The designated organization will first conduct a preliminary review and study of the monuments in the area.
If a monument is discovered during demining efforts in Shusha city, the activities must be halted immediately, and the designated organization must be informed. The decision to resume work will be made by the organization determined by the relevant executive authority.
