Azerbaijan to Phase Out Incandescent Light Bulbs to Boost Energy Efficiency

Baku: In line with amendments made to the Law ‘On the Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency,’ incandescent light bulbs are being gradually phased out in Azerbaijan to increase energy efficiency.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan has reported this transition. The move is part of the country’s broader strategy to enhance energy conservation and optimize the use of resources. The phase-out reflects Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable development and aligns with international practices aimed at reducing energy consumption.

The Ministry of Energy plans to replace incandescent bulbs with more efficient lighting solutions. This change is expected to reduce energy expenditure and contribute to environmental preservation. The initiative encourages consumers and industries to adopt energy-saving technologies.

The phasing out process will be implemented in stages, allowing time for adaptation to new lighting technologies. This step is anticipated to have long-term benefits for both the economy and the environment.
