Baku: Azerbaijan is set to implement a new procedure for the allocation of grants within the cultural sector, aiming to expand the range of beneficiaries. Grants will now be available to not only non-governmental organizations but also other legal entities and individuals, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this development is part of an amendment to the Law ‘On Culture,’ recently approved by President Ilham Aliyev. The amendment outlines that the grant financing of cultural projects will align with the Law ‘On Grants.’ The main objectives are to stimulate innovative activities and research, enhance the quality of cultural services, foster cultural and creative industries, develop the infrastructure of cultural institutions, and increase cultural awareness.
The responsibility for establishing the procedure for organizing competitions for grant financing of cultural projects will rest with a body or institution appointed by the relevant executive authority.
