Baku: Azerbaijan is set to increase the minimum amount of labor pensions from AZN 280 to AZN 320, starting February 1st. The adjustment will be made through an amendment to the law “On Labor Pensions,” following an order from President Ilham Aliyev. Musa Guliyev, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Labour and Social Policy, confirmed the forthcoming changes in a recent interview.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the committee chairman highlighted that the minimum amount of labor pensions is established by law. President Aliyev had recommended this increase to the government, which led to the decision to amend the existing law to reflect the new pension amount. The committee is expected to make a decision on the amendment, with the parliament set to approve it during the initial session of the spring term on February 1st.
