Azerbaijan to Impose Fines for Smoking Electronic Cigarettes in Public Spaces

Baku: Individuals who use electronic cigarettes in places where smoking is prohibited, including streets and other public areas, will be fined, APA reports. This measure is part of the proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which were discussed during today’s session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft law stipulates that starting from April 1, a fine of 30 manats will be imposed on those who use electronic cigarettes in prohibited areas. The draft law was put to a vote after discussions and was adopted in the first reading.

The proposed amendments aim to regulate the use of electronic cigarettes in public spaces, aligning with existing regulations on traditional smoking. The introduction of fines reflects an effort to enforce these regulations more strictly to ensure compliance and reduce smoking in public areas.
