Azerbaijan to Establish Standards for Ethical AI Use

Baku: Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is in the process of formulating standards aimed at promoting the ethical and responsible application of artificial intelligence. Deputy Minister Sameddin Asadov announced this initiative during a scientific-practical conference organized by the Parliamentary Committee for Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology, focusing on the role of artificial intelligence in addressing climate change.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Minister highlighted plans to make over 1 billion data units publicly accessible. This move is intended to facilitate the development of artificial intelligence models by private companies, startups, and research institutions. Furthermore, regulatory and institutional frameworks are being considered to ensure that these AI models benefit society and avoid becoming future threats.
