Beijing:Azerbaijan is actively promoting its winter tourism potential to Chinese travel agencies to strengthen its presence in the Chinese market. On October 16, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s Beijing office, in collaboration with Shahdag Mountain Resort, hosted a presentation for over ten established Beijing-based travel agencies. This event introduced the agencies to the winter tourism opportunities available in Azerbaijan.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the presentation emphasized the offerings of Shahdag Mountain Resort as Azerbaijan approaches the winter season. The session explored how these experiences could be integrated into travel programs for Chinese visitors, aiming to expand the range of experiences for travelers from China.
The event also served as a platform for Azerbaijani tourism businesses and Chinese travel trade partners to exchange information and explore potential cooperation. By highlighting Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism resources and regional experiences, the initiative sought to broaden the travel offerings of agencies and introduce Chinese tourists to more destinations across the country.
Through ongoing engagement with the Chinese travel industry, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s China office aims to enhance industry connections, assist Azerbaijani tourism businesses in accessing the Chinese market, and encourage more Chinese tourists to visit Azerbaijan with convenient travel arrangements and quality services.
In September 2026, the number of Chinese visitors to Azerbaijan increased by 28 percent compared to the same month in the previous year, totaling 11,049. From January to September 2026, 52,115 Chinese citizens visited Azerbaijan, marking a 4.4 percent increase from the same period in 2025.
