Jalilabad: Azerbaijan’s Main Drug Enforcement Department has successfully seized 30 kg of narcotics in the Jalilabad district. During the operation, a 50-year-old resident named Elshan Shammadov was detained, as reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 30 kg of marijuana with harmful substances added was discovered in Shammadov’s possession. Despite employing various means to evade criminal responsibility, Shammadov has been identified as a key figure in organizing the trafficking of narcotics within Azerbaijan. His involvement reportedly includes cooperation with Iranian citizens at different times.
A criminal case has been initiated against Shammadov, and a preventive measure of arrest has been chosen for him by the court’s decision.
