Azerbaijan Sees Significant Surge in AI-95 Gasoline Imports

Baku: Imports of AI-95 gasoline to Azerbaijan have seen a remarkable increase of more than 88% during the period from January to September 2025. Azerbaijan imported 105,308.9 tons of AI-95 grade automobile gasoline valued at USD 89.731 million, marking a substantial rise in both volume and value compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volume of AI-95 gasoline imports surged by 88.8%, equivalent to an additional 49.5 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the value of these imports increased by 66.9%, or USD 36.9 million, compared to the previous year. This notable rise underscores a growing demand for the AI-95 grade gasoline within the country.

During the specified period, AI-95 grade gasoline was primarily imported from several countries. Russia led the list, supplying 69.4 thousand tons, followed by Belarus with 12 thousand tons, Romania with 11.7 thousand tons, the United Arab Emirates with 9.3 thousand tons, Georgia with 1.5 thousand tons, and Bulgaria with 1.4 tons. These diverse sources highlight Azerbaijan’s reliance on multiple international partners to meet its gasoline needs.

In addition to these imports, Azerbaijan produced 1.081 million tons of automobile gasoline domestically from January to September this year. Despite this significant domestic production, the increase in imports suggests a supplementary need for AI-95 gasoline to satisfy consumer demand in the country.
