Baku: Azerbaijan has reported a notable increase in its tea exports to Ukraine, with figures from the initial months of this year showing significant growth. In the period of January to February, Azerbaijan exported 30.28 tons of black tea to Ukraine, amounting to 265.73 thousand U.S. dollars, as reported by APA citing the State Statistical Committee. This marks a 43.9% increase in value and a 45.5% rise in volume compared to the same timeframe last year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan produced 2,644.3 tons of tea from January to March this year, reflecting a 6.4% increase from the previous year. In the first quarter, the country exported 204.12 tons of tea with a value of 1.758 million U.S. dollars to various global markets. This represents a 15.1% increase in value and an 18.2% rise in volume compared to the first quarter of the previous year.
During the same period, Azerbaijan imported 3,158.63 tons of tea worth 20.378 million U.S. dollars, marking decreases of 19.8% in value and 23.6% in volume compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the average export price of tea in the first quarter was recorded at 14.6 manats per kilogram, while the average import price stood at 11.1 manats per kilogram.
