Turkmenbashi:Azerbaijan has expressed its readiness to assume the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2028.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev conveyed his gratitude for the decision to support Azerbaijan’s co-chairmanship in the CIS for 2027. He noted that this decision is seen as a sign of high trust in the country, and expressed Azerbaijan’s commitment to actively participate in the implementation of common tasks.
Furthermore, President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is prepared to organize the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in the autumn of 2028, during its chairmanship.
