Azerbaijan Ministry and Wonderful Sign MoU to Advance AI Implementation

Baku:A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Wonderful, an AI operating system for enterprises and critical organizations. This agreement is set to facilitate cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and related digital technologies across the nation’s government.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the MoU establishes a framework for deploying AI solutions on Wonderful’s platform across various ministries, government agencies, and state-owned enterprises in Azerbaijan. The broader ambition is to enhance the delivery of public services, making them faster and more responsive to citizen and business needs, while also improving the efficiency of government operations.

The signing ceremony, hosted in Baku, was attended by prominent figures including Rashad Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. The Wonderful delegation was led by co-founder and CEO Bar Winkler, alongside other key executives.

The parties envisage a shared AI platform, which will be integrated into Azerbaijan’s Government Cloud (G-Cloud), serving citizens, businesses, and government institutions with a unified set of controls. This initiative is part of the broader objectives outlined in the ‘Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025-2028’ and the ‘Action Plan for 2026-2028 on Accelerating Digital Development.’

Wonderful plans to invest in Azerbaijan by establishing a local entity in Baku, hiring local professionals, and training Azerbaijani specialists. The company has already hired its first employee in Azerbaijan, marking the beginning of its local operations.

The initial collaboration aims to lay the groundwork for broader AI adoption across Azerbaijan’s public sector, aligning with the Ministry’s efforts to build a modern, citizen-centered, and data-driven public sector.
