Cooperation with Turkmenistan’s law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime continues successfully, Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated, APA reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, Turkmenistan’s request for the extradition of Hacimuhammet Bekjanov, a Turkmen citizen born in 1994 who was wanted internationally since 2019 for counterfeiting, has been granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Hacimuhammet Bekjanov was identified and arrested in Azerbaijan in March 2024.
In accordance with the Convention on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases dated January 22, 1993, a decision was made for the extradition of the accused, and he has been handed over to the relevant authorities of Turkmenistan under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
