Azerbaijan Extradites Tajik Citizen Wanted for Large-Scale Fraud


Baku: The request from the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan for the extradition of its citizen, Rano Sirojevna Sharipova (born in 1973), who was declared internationally wanted in 2021 on charges of repeated and large-scale fraud, has been granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the accused, Rano Sharipova, was located and arrested in Azerbaijan earlier this year. Based on the Convention of 07.10.2002 ‘On Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters,’ a decision was made on her extradition.



Sharipova was handed over to the competent authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
