Baku: The tax exemption period for media entities in Azerbaijan is being extended for another three years. This decision was discussed and adopted during today’s session of the Milli Majlis, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the proposed amendment to the Tax Code reflects the extension of the tax exemption, which was initially set to expire on January 1, 2026. The extension means that from this date, media entities (excluding audiovisual media entities) will continue to benefit from tax exemptions on income earned through their activities, including advertising revenues, for an additional three years. The exemption also covers material assistance provided by a body determined by the relevant executive authority.
The draft law was discussed in detail before being put to a vote, where it was adopted on its third reading. This move aims to support the media sector in Azerbaijan by alleviating financial burdens and encouraging the growth and sustainability of media enterprises in the country.
