Azerbaijan Expands AzerGold’s Access to Key Mineral Deposits

Baku: Azerbaijan has expanded the access of AzerGold Closed Joint-Stock Company to several key limestone and sand-gravel deposits across the country. This strategic move aims to enhance the efficiency in the exploitation of these non-metallic mineral deposits and address the growing market demand.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Ilham Aliyev has officially signed a decree facilitating this transfer. The designated subsoil areas, overseen by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, have been allocated to AzerGold. This includes significant limestone deposits ‘Garadagh I and II’ in the Garadagh district of Baku, and ‘Guzdak muldasi’ located in both the Garadagh and Absheron districts.

In addition, the decree covers the ‘Katekhchay I and II’ sand-gravel deposits located in the Zagatala district, the ‘Balakanchay I and II’ in Balakan district, ‘Agchay I’ in Oghuz district, and the ‘Imishli’ sand-gravel deposit in the Imishli district. These allocations signify a substantial increase in the resource base available to AzerGold for future extraction and processing activities.
