Azerbaijan Enforces Fines for Using Electronic Cigarettes in Public Spaces

Baku: Individuals in Azerbaijan who use electronic cigarettes in prohibited areas, including streets and public spaces, will face fines starting today. This development is part of recent amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which have been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendments introduce a fine of 30 manats for using electronic cigarettes in areas where smoking is not allowed. This measure will be in effect from April 1 and aims to regulate the use of electronic cigarettes in the country.

In addition to the fines, amendments to the law ‘On Tobacco and Tobacco Products’ will ban the import, export, production, storage, wholesale, and retail sale of electronic cigarettes and their components starting from April 1. These regulatory changes signal a significant shift in Azerbaijan’s approach to managing electronic cigarette use.
