Azerbaijan Emerging as Key Logistics Hub Amid Postal Sector Transformation


Baku: The ‘Postal Leaders Forum’ held in Baku concluded today, with “Azerpost” LLC revealing insights into the event’s outcomes to APA-Economics. On its third day, the forum attracted over 150 high-level representatives from more than 30 countries across Europe and the CIS region. Attendees included national postal services, technology and e-commerce companies, and experts who convened to discuss the transformation of the postal sector in response to global trends and digital disruptions.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aleksey Borodin, the Director General of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications (RCC) for CIS countries, emphasized the significance of hosting such a prestigious event in Azerbaijan. He highlighted Azerpost’s status as one of the most advanced institutions in the region, noting the implementation of modern services and the introduction of financial and digital services at the state level. Borodin pointed out Azerbaijan’s geographical location as a key logistics hub, underscoring its role in creating alternative routes and boosting regional development.



Borodin also noted the increasing volume of shipments, postal deliveries, and digital financial services, along with a rise in money transfers between countries. He attributed these trends to Azerbaijan’s strategic location and modern infrastructure, which he believes are crucial in forming additional development points in the region. This development is expected to not only enhance Azerbaijan’s economic potential but also increase the region’s attractiveness in terms of logistics routes and digital financial services.
