Baku: The Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense, through its Media and Public Affairs department, recently organized a seminar focused on reviewing the year’s communication strategies and activities. The event gathered representatives from the Ministry, the Media Development Agency, and various media organizations to discuss the year’s achievements and future plans.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the seminar began with a tribute to Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, and the Martyrs who gave their lives for the country. The gathering also included the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Participants received detailed briefings on activities aligned with the Ministry’s Communication Strategy for the year, as approved by Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
The seminar featured comprehensive discussions on the Ministry’s efforts in media and public relations, citizen engagement, and the organization of the military educational system. The Chief of the Media and Public Affairs Department, Colonel Anar Eyvazov, highlighted the Ministry’s significant communication output, noting that nearly 700 pieces of information were disseminated via the Ministry’s official website in multiple languages. The Ministry also maintained an active presence on social media platforms, sharing thousands of posts across Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, and X.
Throughout the year, the Ministry published numerous editions of its newspaper and magazine, and its online radio station broadcast 79 live shows. Inquiries and requests from media representatives were handled efficiently, with nearly 20 inquiries answered and over 370 filming requests facilitated.
The Ministry organized media tours to various military branches and locations, enhancing transparency and cooperation with the media. These tours allowed journalists to engage directly with servicemen and learn about their daily operations and conditions.
To further improve communication, military personnel and civil servants participated in international events to study best practices. The Ministry also maintained open channels for citizen inquiries, receiving tens of thousands of inquiries through its website, email, and hotline. These inquiries were processed promptly, ensuring responsive and accurate communication with the public.
The seminar concluded with a commitment to continue executing the Communication Strategy in a planned manner through 2026, ensuring ongoing dialogue and transparency between the Ministry of Defense and the public.
