Baku: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over a recent document signed between the European Union and Armenia, stating that it directly contradicts the ongoing peace process. The document, which outlines the strategic priorities between the EU and Armenia for the next seven years, includes issues that Azerbaijan finds unacceptable. The ministry highlights that these issues could negatively impact Azerbaijan-EU relations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ministry emphasized that a specific provision in the EU-Armenia document conflicts with the peace process. This provision contradicts an article in a peace agreement that was initially agreed upon by the leaders of Azerbaijan, the United States, and Armenia in Washington D.C. The ministry raised questions about Armenia’s proclaimed intentions, as the document appears to challenge the previously negotiated peace terms.
