Azerbaijan Approves Agreement with UN for World Urban Forum 2026 in Baku

Baku: Azerbaijan has approved an additional agreement with the United Nations concerning the organization and financing of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum, which is set to take place in Baku in 2026. President Ilham Aliyev has signed the law to formalize this agreement.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ‘Additional Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations on organizational measures and financial issues related to the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum’ was initially signed on January 15, 2026, in Geneva. This step signifies Azerbaijan’s commitment to hosting the event and outlines the collaborative efforts between the country and the UN to ensure the forum’s success.
